The sudden death of a horse is a traumatic event, whether on the field of competition or in the home paddock or pasture. This death of horses in competitions drastically affects the horse industry worldwide. We have worked since 2011, in a multidisciplinary way to elucidate the causes of sudden death in horses, and establish preventive measures with Dr. Abelardo Morales (University of Cordoba), Dr. Aniceto Mendez (University of Cordoba), Dr. Thomas Tobin (Gluck Equine Research Center-University of Kentucky), Dr. Kimberly Brewer (Private Practice Florida-USA) and Dr. Richard Galley (Ranch House Road, Willow Park, Tx).
